This was a pretty good story. I especially liked the parts about Richard's father Billie 's experiences during World War Ii. The beginnng scenes on the yacht were a bit drawn out. As Richard goes through Billie's things, he discovers and forms new relationships.Product details

The Crossing is a skillfully crafted historical novel that spans two generations. A powerful and emotional story, yet again demonstrating Faith Mortimer's considerable talents as a new author.
I've read most of Ms Mortimer's mystery and suspense novels and decided to try this double volume. I was attracted by the World War 2 element, as this year marks the 70th anniversary. She has obviously spent a lot of her time in research as the attention to detail was excellent - I felt like I was there in Germany, Poland, France and later in the USA. Great story which moves along at a cracking pace, interspersed with some romance and war action.
Kept me hooked on both books in the double volume. I wonder if there's a third in the offing?
